Well the short answer is "I don't know". There may not be a premiere - Julia at Verve Pictures is doing the math, as they say, and working out whether she can pull it all together. It's a little more complicated, apparently, than it may seem, and of course someone has to organize it and pay for it etc... From the distributors' point of view, understandabely on a low-budget production like this, a premiere is not an automatic thing. Although it would be nice to mark the launch of the movie in some way, it's all down to Julia and I have to respect her judgment on this. So we'll just wait and see...
I know that's unhelpful to those of you planning a trip to the UK for the opening weekend. Sorry I can't give you more of a lead, but it's genuinely up in the air at the moment and depends on a number of things coming together. BUT if there is a premiere of some kind, it'll be towards the beginning of the week before release i.e. around 17th April. Once again, it's quite likely there won't be a premiere at all if all the pieces don't fit together for Verve Pictures. Best I can do right now, sorry.

Thanks for answering my question so quickly, however frustrating the answer might be. You're a really cool chap, Dan. Cheers and all the best.

That's ok, Dan. :) You're already so thoughtful!

Thanks Dan! You are a terrific guy. I can sure understand the difficulty arranging a premiere night. It cost a lot of money and this is after all a small budget movie.

Hi Dan, I admire a lot people who dont have tons of money and still believe in dreams and make good work. Even with no Premiere I wish you luck and thank you ( first) for having Gillian in your movie and ( second) for bring us what seems a good thriller.

HI Dan! I've got a thorny question for you... Do you know when "Straightheads" will come in Italy? I've searched for some informations on the web and I've found trailer, cast, story line but no information about the release date here!
Your blog is really intersting, I think that is thoughtful from you to share your work and emotions with us!
The clips are fantastic even if there are some parts that I don't understand ... I think I need italian subtitle!
Thanks for all... And sorry for my english! :)

I am assured, that premiere will be. Probably, not on April, 17th ... but will However, to spend a free time in London (or other city UK) not is a bad thing! :)
I think, that the first cities in Russia will be Moscow and St.Peter .
For a premiere need a time
And patience for us
I have a truble with a patience
But I'll try to change it

just been reading on another site that has reviews on fims, people who went to the screening of this film, were quite disapointed because, many of the sex scenes where edited from the final film release, and say that there is bearly any sex scenes in it and were also wondering when it is brought out on dvd could you include the scenes that you cut from the original takes in the dvd .....mean nothin is gonna stop me from watchin the film anyway.. and bein well excited 4 it yyyaaaaayyyyy!! 3 weeks 1day to go .... its already listed in the cinema near me, so it will definately be showin in my cinema. muhahaha

I can't beleive that's all you care about! The sex scenes!! Typical! As long as the story, acting and overall film is great then who cares. Is there still sex in it? Yes. Does loads and loads of sex add anything to a film already full of violence and harsh story? No. So, you don't get an extra ten seconds of GA's back bobbing up and down. Who cares?? She's a great actress and lets talk about her acting and a great film rather than sex scenes. Typical. I wondered how long it would take.

I was at the screening last night in Burbank, and I loved the film. I still can't believe I actually got to see it. Several 'friends' of this blog, myself included, were chosen to be a part of a focus group discussion afterwards. I wish now that I could sit down with you, Dan, and pick your brain. But I will stick with 2 comments - a director's cut for this film would be awesome. I can see how your vision for the film might possibly be narrowed down for general audiences (although i don't know if this is or would be the case). and secondly, you did a fantastic job. thank you very much for this film, Dan!
